About St-Rémy Signature Brandy
Shaping a new face of Brandy, St-Rémy Signature Brandy was created by Master Blender Cécile Roudaut. Rodaut wanted to explore new production processes and introduced a double maturation process. Still respecting the time-honored traditions, she opted for the first maturation to take place in new oak casks of Quercus Petraea species with a fine grain, using medium and high heat. This provided the adored spicy notes, indulgence, and vivacity. The second maturation, which took place in traditional casks of Quercus Robur species with a large grain, used only high heat. The result was roundness, balance, and sweetness. An exploration gone right as the final result is smooth, fruity, and delivers a perfect harmony of flavors. This is still a classic Brandy and it’s perfect for cocktails as well as neat or on the rocks.
The legendary House of Rémy Martin is indubitably intertwined with the lands of Charente, where it was founded in 1724 by Rémy Martin, a descendant of Charente winemakers. St-Rémy is the junior brand cousin of the famed brand. It was created back in 1886 by Paul-Emile Rémy Martin II who established the original St-Rémy Distillery in the tiny village of Machecoul. Iin 1917, Fine St-Rémy was born, the brandy that became their flagship offering for decades to come. Soon, the St-Remy spirit was sold on all five major continents, and today St-Rémy is the World’s No. 1 French brandy. Bottled in the Loire Valley and distilled in both column and pot stills, the production of St-Remy V.S.O.P. Brandy begins with the selection of grapes, harvested in France’s most prestigious wine-growing regions, such as Burgundy, Champagne, Rhône Valley, Languedoc-Roussillon, Loire Valley, Bordeaux and Beaujolais.
